Charity sector website design for Intelligent Giving » Elliot Ross

Intelligent Giving

Agency:

The Storm

Year:

2006

Intelligent Giving was a website for charity donors, which primarily rated UK charities based on the quality of their reporting and transparency.

At The Storm agency I worked in the front end design of the site, including the general visual language and the information hierarchy of the charity reviews. I worked closely with the development team, who built the site using an early version of Drupal CMS.

As you might imagine, the site became quite controversial, notably incurring the wrath of Chelsea football club, Sue Ryder Care and Sir Terry Wogan. Equally, however, the site was supported by several key figures in the fundraising sector, and in July 2007 won the New Statesman New Media Award for Information & Openness.

Sadly due to funding difficulties, the site was no longer online by mid 2010. You can follow the story of Intelligent Giving on Wikipedia.
