the cloakroom of boredom
Working the cloakroom shift is possibly the most mind numbingly dull activity known to man. It generally consists of an hour sitting on your own waiting for the customer(s) to come in, an hour on your own of being infuriatingly busy, then two hours on your own of intense boredom, and then another hour on your own of being infuriatingly busy. Occasionally you get the chance to speak to another human being, however it's generally in response to some abuse that you won't give their coat back without a ticket.
